Solon Name Study

I am creating this one name study in the hope that I will find my ancestors. My great great grandfather, Thomas Solon was born in Ireland in 1837 (we believe to be Galway, (no documents to verify). He came to America and resided in Baltimore, Maryland until his death in 1893. He married Margaret Ann Carney in 1869. Have marriage record.

He may have had a son named Nicholas, born in 1865 from a previous marriage?

Thomas and Margaret had 5 children together, Lawrence, Margaret, Mary, Joseph and isabelle (my great grandmother). she was born about 1880 in Baltimore and married William Kuhn born 1878 in Baltimore. Married in 1900.

I am wanting to know who Thomas Solon's parents were etc... They would have been born in Ireland.

Current assumption is that Thomas was born in Tynagh, Galway

Thomas was born in Tynagh, County Galway, Ireland; on 21 Apr 1836, son of Lawrence and Mary Ann Geoghegan-Solon.

Thomas was said to have immigrated to America at the age of 10 (during the famine years).

May have arrived at age 25 in Boston aboard the Neptune. There is no listing for him in the Massachusetts Census of 1860, or 1870. 1870 shows him married to Margaret A Carney in Baltimore, MD with a child Nicholas age 5. This marriage is November 9, 1864(?)

He was the father of Nicholas Solon and widowed before he married Margaret Ann Kearney-Riley in September, 1869. (we assume) She was the daughter of Samuel Kearney and Isabella Knipe and the widow of George Riley.

The date of Thomas' death is unknown - he was buried April 24, 1893.

I am also inviting males with the Solon/Solan/Solen surname to take a minimum Y-67 DNA test through Family Tree DNA.
